Multiple power outages still being reported around metro Atlanta following storms
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – With the rain and severe weather comes damage and power outages.
Power crews have been out overnight working to clean up downed trees and restore power in multiple metro Atlanta counties.
On the 2700 block of Fairlane Drive in Atlanta, a tree fell and brought down power lines, knocking out power to hundreds in the area. Georgia Power crews are still working to restore power there.
In Atlanta’s Lake Claire neighborhood, in DeKalb County – a massive tree came down early Tuesday morning snapping a utility pole. Wires are draped across the street at the intersection of Claire Drive and Palifox Drive. Both the fire department and power crews arrived on the scene just before 6 a.m. and secured the area. A portion of Palifox Drive is closed off. So far, no major property damage is being reported.
As of 6 a.m. Wednesday, the following outages were still being reported in these counties:
Carroll – 9
Clayton – 95
Cobb – 78
Coweta – 469
DeKalb – 286
Fulton – 372
Gwinnett – 13
Henry – 2,312
