Man charged with raping child at popular metro Atlanta park

KENNESAW, Ga. — A Kennesaw man is dealing with expenses that he sexually assaulted a toddler inside a public park.

Kennesaw police say Austin Stovall raped a juvenile at Swift-Cantrell Park on Might 8.

Stovall has since been arrested and charged with rape, aggravated sexual battery, little one molestation, false imprisonment, kidnapping and cruelty to youngsters.

Kennesaw Police Chief William Westenberger launched a press release to the group saying nothing like this has ever occurred at Swift-Cantrell Park.

In 2019, Channel 2 reported that Stovall was arrested for impersonating a police officer.

Police say that in that incident Stovall didn’t have his pants on close to Kennesaw State College and was pretending to be an officer.

Physique digital camera footage from the jail confirmed Stovall with a mesh bag over his head threatening officers and claiming that he was an officer from DeKalb County.

“I’m going to [expletive deleted] you up bro. You’re scared. I do know you’re,” Stovall may be heard saying.

The DeKalb County Police Division confirmed that Stovall was not an officer.

After repeatedly threatening officers, he switched it up and instructed them he liked them.

“I really like you guys. I really like you. I really like you. I really like you. And I imply it,” Stovall stated.

Stovall is being held within the Cobb County Detention Heart whereas the investigation into the rape continues.
