Falcons – Chiefs inactives: No surprises for Atlanta
If you had to guess which Atlanta Falcons were inactive tonight, I bet you’d come very close based on the past two weeks.
Once again, it’s three rookies from the 2024 draft class, one of the new additions to the roster in tackle Brandon Parker, and second year deep reserve offensive lineman Jovaughn Gwyn. The only difference from last week? Veteran cornerback Antonio Hamilton will make his season debut.
I’ve said my peace on the rookies, and it boils down to the Falcons having the depth on the defensive line and at running back to feel comfortable parking them. If health changes or Dorlus and/or Orhorhoro make drastic leaps in practice, perhaps we see them in a bit. Otherwise, there’s a real chance it’ll be late in the season before any of them make their debuts. Parker and Gwyn will only be up for the game if Atlanta suffers injuries along the line.
The Chiefs list of inactives does not feature any major contributors, so both teams are relatively healthy, though Kansas City has lost a couple of key pieces to injured reserve in the past week or so.
