Atlanta to celebrate 140th St. Patrick’s Parade
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Floats, dancers, musicians and more will flood Peachtree Street on Saturday for the 140th Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade!
The parade, which is the city’s longest-running event, runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. Atlanta News First’s own Monica Pearson is the grand marshal!
ANF+ will stream the parade live on our website and Youtube page, as well as on FireTV, Apple TV and Roku.
Thousands are expected to flock to the event, which features more than 100 floats and 1,300 participants. It starts near the Woodruff Arts Center and ends at the intersection of 5th Street NE.
If you’d like to go in person, there are several parking decks available:
- Colony Square parking deck on 14th Street
- Campanile parking deck on Juniper Street
- Proscenium parking deck on Crescent Avenue
- Promenade II parking deck on 15th Street
- 1000 space deck, which is on the corner of West Peachtree and 10th Street
You can also take MARTA to the parade. The Arts Center Station is the closest to the parade’s start, while the Midtown Station is about halfway through and the North Avenue Station is a few blocks south of the end.
Atlanta’s St. Patrick’s Parade, which began in 1858, wasn’t always such a large affair. But in 1999, several Irish groups formed a parade committee, boosting the event’s popularity.
