Atlanta Mansion Sells For $20M, Sets Record
An Atlanta mansion has been snatched off the market, breaking records in the process.
The 17,000-square-foot estate, in the Bucktown area’s Tuxedo Park neighborhood, sold for $19.8 million in an off-market deal, the Atlanta Business Journal reported. That’s about $1,165 per square foot.
Ben Hirsh of Hirsh Real Estate represented the sellers, Andrew and Melissa Heyman, while Dorsey Alston Realtors’ Harvin Greene represented the buyers, Michael and Summer Tourville.
It’s the most expensive home sale on record in Atlanta, topping an $18.1 million off-market deal in 2021. The priciest transaction for a home on the open market occurred in April 2016, when businessman and televangelist David Turner bought filmmaker Tyler Perry’s Buckhead mansion for $17.5 million.
The Heymans, principals of Atlanta-based venture capital and private equity firm ASH Investment Partners, purchased the property for $3 million in 2019. They collaborated with luxury homebuilder Siegel Construction and Design, New Orleans-based interior designer Sherry Shirah and Atlanta gallery Jackson Fine Art on a makeover..
The mansion, described as “Scandinavian in style with a Japanese vibe,” features a sculptural central staircase and features an 18th-century Japanese charring technique known as shou sugi ban on its wood cladding.
Tuxedo Park is filled with high-end homes and eye-popping price tags. In December, the 3.2-acre estate at 225 Valley Road, once owned by Tuxedo Park founder Charles Black, hit the market at $11.5 million.
A 15,000-square-foot mansion in the neighborhood sold for $8.6 million in January, topping all 2023 home sales in the Bucktown area.

Spirit Airlines ended all operations on Saturday, grounding its entire fleet and ending employment for its 17,000-person workforce. Flight attendants and customers were stranded across the country, often forced to pay for their own travel home after the discount carrier ceased operations.
Kamille Carter, an Atlanta-based flight attendant of five years, said she received the termination email from the CEO at 3 a.m., despite earlier assurances from union representatives that the company was stable. The company immediately cut healthcare benefits and stopped payments for sick leave and vacation time for all staff members.

Despite the financial strain of supporting eight children, Carter is looking toward her passion for cooking as a potential new career. The search for missing 16-year-old Benjamin Braithwaite is over. Atlanta police announced just before midnight Thursday that he had been located, more than a week after he vanished from his Regency Trace home.
The department shared the update on social media but did not release additional details about where he was found or the circumstances surrounding his recovery.
Braithwaite had been missing since the night of April 27, when he was last seen around 9 p.m. at his home in Atlanta. His family said they had no contact with him during the entire time he was gone.
The disappearance of the KIPP Atlanta Collegiate High School sophomore and basketball team member had galvanized the Atlanta community. His family, teammates, Atlanta police officers and neighbors gathered at the school last week to raise awareness about his disappearance. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where his mother works, joined the search effort — asking the public to watch for him at MARTA stops and fast food restaurants.
A $10,000 reward had been offered for credible information leading to his safe return.
“Even small details matter. Your awareness could make the difference,” the airport wrote in an Instagram post earlier this week.
