Although the month that some think of as Dry January has passed, the trend to forego alcohol hasn’t.

More and more Atlanta bars and restaurants are jumping on the alcohol-free bandwagon according to Beth McKibbon, senior editor for food and dining at Rough Draft.

She joined WABE’s “All Things Considered” to talk about what’s driving the trend and how businesses are responding.

One thing she noted is that many restaurants struggle financially during the early months of the year as many customers cut back after indulging during the holidays.

She says incorporating more zero-proof cocktails into their menus is one way establishments can recoup some of that lost revenue.
