20 Afghans who fled war-torn country hired at Atlanta hotel

Atlanta — The Hyatt Regency lodge in downtown Atlanta not too long ago added 20 new staff to its workforce, all of whom are refugees from Afghanistan, who, in some instances, left the whole lot behind.

The lodge hosted a job honest final week completely for these fleeing the Taliban, with greater than 100 Afghans attending.

Channel 2′s Berndt Petersen spoke to a few of the newly employed employees on their first day of labor on Monday, together with Safiollah Mahbubi, who’s the lodge’s latest greeter.

“I’m very excited,” Mahbubi mentioned. “I’ve had an excellent expertise with the individuals right here.”

Martin Luther King as soon as known as the Hyatt the “lodge of hope,” Resort Normal Supervisor Derrick Morrow making it a way of pleasure for the enterprise.
