Arkansas basketball dropped five spots in the latest USA TODAY Coaches Poll after opening the season with a 1-1 week.

The Razorbacks are ranked 21st in the latest poll, sandwiched between rivals Illinois and Ohio State. Arkansas is one of seven SEC teams ranked inside the top 25. Kansas remains atop the rankings, with Alabama, UConn, Auburn and Gonzaga rounding out the top five.

The Hogs opened their season with a 76-60 victory over Lipscomb. The defense forced 19 turnovers and held the Bisons to 37.1% shooting.

However, Arkansas fell to Baylor 72-67 on Saturday in Dallas. Arkansas struggled shooting 3s, going 5 of 20 from long range. The Bears entered the season ranked inside the top 10, but they’ve fallen to No. 14 in the latest poll thanks to a blowout loss to Gonzaga on the opening night of the season.

Arkansas returns to action Wednesday with a home game against Troy. The Razorbacks will play the next four games inside Bud Walton Arena before a neutral-site game against No. 20 Illinois on Thanksgiving Day.
