Mississippi State basketball can finish the regular season with a .500 SEC record with a win on Saturday at Arkansas.

The Bulldogs (20-10, 8-9) fell in overtime to Texas to drop into the bottom half of the SEC standings and will play on Wednesday of the SEC Tournament next week.

Arkansas (18-12, 7-10) can all but secure a NCAA Tournament at-large bid with a win on Saturday. A loss likely requires work to be done in Nashville in the SEC Tournament for the Hogs to feel safe on Selection Sunday.

Clarion Ledger reporter Sam Sklar’s prediction: Arkansas 72, Mississippi State 70

The Razorbacks looked like a team that quit when they lost to South Carolina, but then they rallied for an impressive win at Vanderbilt. This feels like a game that could go either way, but Arkansas prevails in a close game at home.
