Men’s Tennis Open Home Season With Doubleheader

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas males’s workforce (2-0) return house to Billingsley Tennis Middle on Friday, going through Wichita State (2-2) at 12 p.m. and Lamar (2-1) at 4 p.m.

The Razorbacks opened the spring season with two wins over San Diego State and UC San Diego on the highway. Newcomers Gerard Planelles Ripoll and Stefanos Savva received their first wins as Razorbacks, with Planelles Ripoll going 3-0 on the day. Junior Melvin Manuel received off to a sizzling begin this spring as properly, clinching the Razorback wins in each matches.

The Wichita State Shockers and the Razorbacks aren’t any strangers, having confronted one another individually within the ITA Regional Championships this fall. The Shockers are led by Kristof Minarik and Alex Richards who went 10-5 as a doubles duo final spring and confronted Arkansas’ Adrien Burdet and Alan Sau Franco within the ITA Regional quarterfinals. Wichita State is 2-2 on the season proper now with wins towards Grand Canyon and Bryant. They’re coming off of an in depth 1-4 loss to Arizona State.

The Lamar Redbirds, led by former Razorback Scott Shankles, are the defending Western Athletic Convention champions come to Arkansas after a 0-7 loss to No. 11 Baylor. Max Amling and Filippo Salsini return as the highest doubles workforce from final spring, posting a 14-3 document on the No. 2 place for the Redbirds. Towards the Bears, Amling and Salsini put up a troublesome effort towards their No. 59 ranked opponent, falling 2-6.
