Several roads in Little Rock and North Little Rock near the Arkansas River will be closed or restricted on Saturday as cyclists participate in the Big Dam Bridge 100 Cycling Tour, officials said.
Around 3,000 cyclists are expected to participate in the event, which will offer several routes ranging from 15 to 105 miles, according to a Wednesday news release from the Big Dam Bridge Foundation.
The start line is at Riverfront Drive and Willow Street in North Little Rock, and the finish line is at Riverfront Park, the release said.
The following roads and bridges will be affected during the event:
— Riverfront Drive in North Little Rock will be closed from 4 to 8:30 a.m.
— River Mountain Road will have restricted access from 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
— The westbound portion of La Harpe Boulevard between Markham Street and Cantrell Road will be closed from 6 to 8:30 a.m.
— Rebsamen Park Road will be congested from 7-8:30 a.m.
— Big Dam Bridge will be restricted to participants from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
— Two Rivers Bridge will be restricted to participants from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
— Highway 300 from Barrett Road through Roland will be congested from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Big Dam Bridge Foundation, the release said. Participants can register on site Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Statehouse Convention Center, located at 101 E. Markham St.
