Arkansas receives ‘recommitment’ from key North Texas transfer tight end

Arkansas landed North Texas switch TE Var’Keyes Gumms out of the portal earlier this offseason.

However, not too long ago, Gumms had determined to reopen his recruitment. He even reportedly took a go to to Cal over the weekend.

Gumms performed in 14 video games for North Texas in 2022, recording 34 catches for 458 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Gumms provides some critical expertise to the tight finish room for the Razorbacks. He figures to be a key weapon for QB KJ Jefferson this fall. The Hogs want some cross catchers to step up after dropping Jadon Haselwood to the NFL and another key receivers.
