FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas baseball will look to extend its four-game winning streak and continue its early-season dominance on the mound in an in-state matchup Tuesday.
The No. 3 Razorbacks (9-2) will host Central Arkansas this afternoon, coming off a three-game sweep over Murray State. Arkansas starting pitchers combined to give up three runs and strike out 32 batters over 16 innings. Freshman Colin Fisher (2-1, 0.00 ERA) will start on the mound for Arkansas against the Bears.

Central Arkansas (7-6) split a four-game series against Tarleton State this weekend. Nine of the Bears’ 13 games this season have been decided by two runs or less.

In the nightcap of the WCWS elimination games is No. 8 UCLA vs. No. 5 Arkansas, two teams that suffered come-from-behind wins on May 28 by Alabama and Nebraska, respectively. The Bruins couldn’t take advantage of back-to-back home runs against Jocelyn Briski in the third, eventually falling 6-3 to the top-seeded Crimson Tide.

The Razorbacks’ loss was arguably more painful (or, at least, took longer). Arkansas twice led against Nebraska and USA Softball Player of the Year Jordy Frahm, but was unable to maintain either lead before Ava Kuszak walked the Razorbacks off in the bottom of the 10th inning in the 5-3 defeat.
