ArDOT temporarily closing two highways

CROSS COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) – Two Northeast Arkansas highways will be temporarily closed in the coming days for road repairs.

The Arkansas Department of Transportation announced Friday that Highway 163, south of Highway 64 near Levesque in Cross County, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, through Friday, Nov. 1, to allow crews to replace a pipe culvert.

A signed detour will be in place using County Road 720 (Cook Road) and Highway 284 and 64.

In Jackson County, Highway 226 near Swifton between Highway 367 and 67 will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, until 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, to replace another pipe culvert.

A signed detour will be in place using Highway 67, 37, and 367.

Motorists should use caution and expect delays.
