5 killed in Arkansas plane crash that happened shortly after takeoff
An Arkansas environmental consulting agency says it’s “extremely saddened” after 5 of its staff died in a airplane crash that occurred shortly after takeoff from Little Rock.
The dual-engine Beech BE20 was heading to Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday when it went down a couple of miles south of the Invoice and Hillary Clinton Nationwide Airport, authorities say.
“We’re extremely saddened to report the lack of our Little Rock colleagues,” Paul Nony, senior vice chairman of CTEH, mentioned in an announcement. “We ask everybody to maintain the households of these misplaced and your complete CTEH group of their ideas and prayers.”
An organization spokesman instructed The Related Press that the staff onboard the airplane, which included the pilot, have been responding to an explosion at Cleveland-area metals plant this week that killed one employee and despatched greater than a dozen to the hospital.

Dennis Gordon instructed the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette he was standing on a road close by the crash when he heard the wind choose up after which an explosion. Gordon instructed the newspaper that a number of smaller explosions adopted, after which an enormous hearth.
“It was simply crimson, then it begins turning black, and there’s this burnt scent,” Gordon added.
