Women’s Tennis Defeats Tulane, 6-1 on Thursday – University of Alabama Athletics

NEW ORLEANS, La. –  The Alabama women’s tennis team defeated Tulane, 6-1, Thursday afternoon at City Park Tennis Center in New Orleans, La., as the team improved to 6-1 on the season.

Although, Alabama (6-1) dropped the doubles point, the Crimson Tide won sixth-straight singles matches to secure the victory over Tulane (4-3, 1-0 AAC).

Anne Marie Hiser earned Alabama’s first point of the afternoon after a straight-set win over Kristen Borland (6-3, 6-1), while Klara Milicevic also won in two sets over Jiayun Zhu (6-4, 6-3) to move the Tide into the lead.

On courts two and five, No. 50 Petra Sedlackova (6-4, 7-5) and Anna Parkhomenko (6-4, 7-6(7)) secured their singles matches over Mackenzie Clark and Charlotte Russell, respectfully. No. 27 Loudmilla Bencheikh defeated Lahari Yelamanchili, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) on court one, before Ola Pitak finalized the win on court four with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 defeat over Cora Barber.
