Tommy Rees blasted on social media amid Alabama’s first-half offensive struggles
Tommy Rees is in his first year as the offensive coordinator at Alabama and things … well, things haven’t been going super great so far.
After struggling at USF last week, the Crimson Tide continued those struggles in the first half of Saturday’s home game against No. 15 Ole Miss.
At one point, the Tide got the ball inside the Rebels’ 2-yard line after blocking a punt. They then lost yards on 3 straight plays and had to settle for a field-goal try.
As you might imagine, the first-half struggles drew plenty of ire on social media, most of it directed at Rees. Here’s a sampling of some of that anger from X (formerly Twitter):
aye what is Tommy Rees calling out there…?

First & goal from the 2
Tommy Rees: let’s line up in shotgun formation

Tommy Rees should be fired. Got the ball on the 1 and you’re in the shotgun. Way to not help your team. @AlabamaFTBL

Saban better be cussing Tommy Rees like a dog in front of God, family and country for that BS.

How do you not go under center on first and goal? Why are you in shotgun?
FIRE TOMMY REES.

Tommy Rees is the worst hire in Alabama football history.

Can Tommy Rees get the offense back on track? If these struggles continue in the second half, you can bet we’ll hear plenty of boos from the Alabama faithful who came to watch the game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
