SERIES RECAP: Alabama’s bats come alive to take series at Texas A&M

Amidst the turmoil of the Brad Bohannon gambling drama, the Alabama baseball team has somehow managed to begin to play some if its best ball of the 2023 season.

The Crimson Tide made the trip to College Station this weekend for an SEC series against Texas A&M and thanks to their hot bats, were able to take two out of the three games against the Aggies.

With the series win, Alabama is now 5-2 since the firing of coach Bohannon and has improved to 35-17 overall this season and 13-14 in SEC play with just one week to go in the regular season, Alabama has a chance to finish strong ahead of the SEC tournament.

Let’s take a few minutes to recap the three-game series from College Station!

Although Alabama hammered out three home runs on Friday night, the Texas A&M bats were even hotter as the Aggies hit a total of six dingers to get the win in game one.

Alabama scored eight runs in the fifth inning before run-ruling the Aggies in seven innings. Andrew Pinckney led the Alabama offense with a 3-for-5 day that included two homers, two runs scored, and a career-high and team-best six RBI.

Dominant pitching and hitting helped lead the Tide to a win on Sunday. Jacob McNairy threw a career-high tying 7.0 scoreless frames, allowing six hits and a walk to go with a career-best nine strikeouts. Alabama cranked out 14 hits on Sunday.

Alabama will head back to Tuscaloosa for the final SEC series of the season as they host the Ole Miss Rebels beginning on Thursday night!
