Northeast Alabama firm announces $3.26 million expansion, creating 12 jobs
A nearly 50-year-old Calhoun County business is expanding to keep pace with rapid growth.
Jacksonville-based Bryant Machine Co. Friday announced a $3.26 million project that will include the construction of a 22,000-square-foot facility and new machining equipment.
The expansion is expected to create 12 new jobs.
Founded in 1979, Bryant Machine over the past year has seen sales up 250% and its workforce expanded by 150%.
It specializes in milling, assembly and engineering services, as well as additive manufacturing, portable coordinate measuring machine (CMM) services, and computer-aided manufacturing.
Kirklin Childs, COO and vice president, said the company began with his grandfather Donald Bryant’s dream to build a “family shop with big ambitions.”
“We’ve carried that same spirit forward for more than four decades, growing alongside the Calhoun County community that has always supported us,” Childs said.
Calhoun County Economic Development Council (EDC) Executive Director Don Hopper said the company has long been committed to innovation, investment and creating high quality jobs.
“Their success not only strengthens the roots here in Calhoun County but also highlights the important role family-owned businesses play in sustaining and growing our community’s economy,” Hopper said.
