MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (WAFF) – A University of Alabama senior from the shoals has big dreams when it comes to his filmmaking career.

According to WAFF’s partners at the TimesDaily, Benjamin McGee is gearing up for his next film titled “Roost.” The film will be shot in Muscle Shoals.

Just a college senior, he’s already screened his first major film “Gasbags,” at the George Lindsey Film Festival in Florence.

Though he considers “Gasbags” to be his first major film, he said he’s been filmmaking ever since high school.

McGee said that he hopes to do what he loves full time one day.

“He is a bit of a star in our department,” said Maya Champion, UA Creative Media instructor and Florence native, according to TimesDaily. “He’s definitely a student leader, and I really believe he’s going places.”
