Justice Department challenges Alabama law criminalizing gender-transitioning medical care

The Justice Division Friday filed a grievance difficult a lately enacted Alabama legislation, Senate Invoice 184, criminalizing the availability of gender-transitioning medical care to minors.

The grievance joins one other lawsuit filed by 4 Alabama mother and father of transgender teenagers filed in April. 

Friday’s submitting is the most recent motion by the Justice Division to fight discrimination primarily based on gender identification, together with illegal restrictions on medical take care of transgender youth.
