Former Alabama All-American, first-round pick, released by Eagles
Former Alabama LB Rashaan Evans is on the move for a new NFL opportunity.
After 3 days on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad, Evans requested to be released. Evans’ request was granted, as the Eagles terminated his contract to make him a free agent.
Rashaan Evans’ practice squad contract was terminated today by the Eagles at his request, per source. Evans has options from several other teams that he is currently considering.

Evans has played professionally since 2018. He played at Alabama from 2014-to-2017, helping the Crimson Tide win national championships in 2015 and ’17. Evans was named All-SEC and a first-team All-American in his final season.
The Tennessee Titans selected Evans with the No. 22 overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Evans remained with the Titans through the 2021 season.
Evans signed a 1-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons ahead of the 2022 season. A 17-game starter for the Falcons, Evans posted a career-high 159 combined tackles. Evans had 2 sacks, 4 passes defended, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery last season.
For his career, Evans has played in 76 regular-season games, making 67 starts. He also started 4 postseason contests for the Titans in 2019 and ’20.
