East Alabama workforce development center preparing for summer classes
OXFORD, Ala. (WBRC) – The new workforce development center called CREATE is offering a free 12-week training program to learn commercial trade skills.
With the first round of classes coming to an end, CREATE Director Lorie Denton says she’s excited for the summer classes to begin.
CREATE will provide students with the opportunity to go straight to work in high wage, high demand jobs while helping fill the state’s workplace shortage.
In February, CREATE started the first round of commercial construction classes that are currently wrapping up.
CREATE Director Lorie Denton says the summer classes will begin in July and will consist of commercial carpentry, electrical or plumbing.
“The quality of instructors that we have for these commercial classes are some of the most skilled in their profession. They work here locally for our commercial contractors. We would not be able to do this without the help of Littleton Electric and Donny Dunn and his company Dunn’s HVAC and Plumbing,” said Denton.
If you would like to register for this specialized training, you can submit a form to CREATE.
