Alabama vs. Vanderbilt final odds and prediction

The Alabama Crimson Tide enters week six a perfect 4-0 fresh off one of the most impressive wins of the season in college football last week. They are in Nashville preparing for their first SEC road game of the season and of the Kalen DeBoer era.

Alabama will be without starting WR Kendrick Law, who suffered an injury in last week’s game and was officially ruled out on Friday night.

Alabama will be looking to avoid an obvious trap game against the Commodores. Vanderbilt enters the game at 2-2 and looking like a much improved football team from where they were last season. The ‘Dores already scored a big win at FirstBank Stadium, knocking off Virginia Tech in the season opener. Two weeks ago they took Missouri to the brink before losing in Columbia in overtime.

Alabama opened the week as a 24-point favorite over Vanderbilt, but that line has dropped down to 22.5 as we approach kickoff.

It’ll be interesting to see how a DeBoer coached Alabama handles success following last week. The Tide will be battling complacency for the first time in 2024 after ascending up to the No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a sloppy offensive start, but over time, as it usually does in college football, talent will win out and overwhelm.

Vanderbilt will stick around for longer than most expect, but Alabama will put Clark Lea’s team to bed late in the third quarter.
