MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) -Arbor Day is still a couple of months away, but the Alabama Cooperative Extension System is partnering with the Alabama Forestry Commission to celebrate early and give away free trees in Lowndes County on Wednesday.

Nearly 10 different types of trees, along with experts, will be on the Hayneville Town Square to talk with the people taking them home about how to grow and care for these trees.

One of the primary missions of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System is to reach rural residents with science-based information, meaningful information, and practical solutions to improve homes, farms, and communities.

The tree giveaway will run from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
