Senate Democrats and a handful of Republicans voted to block a government spending package on Thursday. President Trump and Senate Democrats continued to negotiate to rein in federal agents enacting his immigration crackdown and avert a government shutdown.

Second, enforce accountability. Third, masks off, body cameras on, each officer must have visible — visible — ID. The American people are demanding that something gets done. And of course, to pass legislation and enshrine this into law, we need our Republican colleagues to come along with us.” “Hopefully we won’t have a shutdown, and we’re working on that right now.
