Republicans stand by McCarthy as accusations fly over leaked recording

“Males too weak to stick to any precept. Too hungry for energy to say or do what’s proper. And too cowardly to inform the reality,” he continued. “We deserve higher.”

Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., accused McCarthy of mendacity “on a regular basis” including, “It is projecting his personal disgrace on the journalists who reported the reality that’s unforgivable.”

California Democrat Eric Swalwell additionally took a swipe at McCarthy after the report dropped.
