After a stopgap spending measure failed on Friday in the House of Representatives, Speaker Kevin McCarthy raced to push forward a measure on Saturday that would keep the government funded for 45 days. Under the special rules of this vote, two-thirds of those present — including a significant number of Democrats — will have to vote in favor for the measure to pass.
