WOODFORD — Troopers from the Vermont State Police- Shaftsbury Barracks were dispatched to a tractor-trailer crash in the area of 4486 Route 9 – just east of Notch Road – in the Town of Woodford at about 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday evening, a VSP release said.

Investigation revealed that a 2016 Volvo tractor trailer, driven by a 32-year-old male from Virginia, was traveling west on Route 9 when the trailer portion of the vehicle began to lose traction in the wet and icy conditions on the roadway, and slide side to side.

The operator was unable to correct the vehicle and ultimately went off the roadway. The cab of the truck struck an embankment and jackknifed backwards before coming to rest, the release said.
