BRADFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – A two-week-old missing persons case that was initially considered non-suspicious is now being considered “potentially criminal in nature”.

That’s according to Vermont State Police, who, including their major crime unit, were investigating in Bardford for most of the day on Tuesday. They say they are carrying out a court-ordered search warrant at a residence on Old Post Road relating to the disappearance of 43-year-old Corey Crooker.

Family members last saw Crooker on Jan. 9, and last heard from him five days after. Police said at the time there was nothing to indicate Crooker disappeared under suspicious circumstances, but there were concerns for his welfare.

While Vermont State Police have not shared much about their findings so far, they said troopers will continue their investigation throughout the day on Wednesday.
