Vermont man accused of using blowtorch in assault
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington police have arrested a man accused of injuring another person with a broom and a blowtorch.
Officers responded after getting a 911 hang-up call Monday night.
When police arrived, they say the door was locked but they could hear screaming inside, so they forced their way into the home.
Police arrested Eric Dow, 33, of Burlington, who they assaulted another person while restraining them.
The victim, who was injured, was evaluated by first responders but police would not elaborate on the injuries.
Dow faces a number of charges and is being held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility.
