Vermont Law and Graduate school names building for former senator Patrick Leahy
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The UVM men’s hoops team expects to bring most of its 2023-24 rotation back next season, but on Thursday, they added former Memphis guard Jayhlon Young to bolster the guard spot.
Young has been on a bit of a journey during his time in college: he started at Grambling, redshirting as a true freshman in 2019-20. Two seasons of junior college followed before Young transfered to UCF. With the Knights, Young averaged better than 19 minutes per game, scoring about 4.5 points per and shooting a hair under 36% from beyond the arc. Young transferred again, to Memphis last year, but saw a decrease in minutes and usage from his time in Orlando.
Vermont hopes Young will help them fill some of the production lost with the graduation of program stalwart guard Aaron Deloney.
