BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont’s snowmobile season kicked off with a giant winter storm Friday, however regardless of the brand new snow, some trails should not be open and most lakes and rivers are unsafe to journey on.

The Inexperienced Mountain Nationwide Forest is reminding snowmobilers to place security first as riders hit the paths this winter. That features paying consideration at gates and obeying signage and closed trails. They are saying to make use of additional warning early within the season, as bushes could also be weak as a result of accumulation of snowfall.

Darren Perron spoke with John Sinclair, the forest supervisor for the Inexperienced Mountain and Finger Lakes Nationwide Forests.
