Stuck in Vermont: Saying Goodbye to Burlington’s Penny Cluse Café

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington’s Penny Cluse Café opened in 1998 and rapidly grew to become legendary for its tasty and inventive breakfasts and lunches. When house owners and married couple Charles Reeves and Holly Cluse introduced in October that they might shut between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the net tributes started to pour in.

Seven Days’ Eva Sollberger visited Penny Cluse to speak to employees and regulars about what the spot has meant to the neighborhood for the previous 25 years.
