Vermont State Police are investigating a triple homicide at the intersection of Vermont Route 133 and Kelley Hill Road.

PAWLET, V.T. (WNYT) – Vermont State Police are investigating a triple homicide at the intersection of Vermont Route 133 and Kelley Hill Road.

Major Daniel Trudeau of Vermont State Police said they received multiple 911 calls around 3:45 Sunday morning with one call reporting a suspicious person with blood on him near a home.

“One was a 911 call, describing a male person that they saw with some blood on them. And then, another call came in shortly thereafter, and it was actually that same person that had some blood on the clothing,” Trudeau said.

Then police told NewsChannel 13 that the person with blood on him called 911 and gave information about dead people inside the home he was staying at. Police then responded to the home on Route 133 and began their search.

“They searched through the house. So, they did find, some deceased victims in the house,” said Trudeau.

Police confirmed Sunday night that they found three deceased bodies when they entered the home.

Trudeau said police have detained the man but have not arrested or charged him yet.

“We still have him detained, still chatting with him, trying to get some information,” Trudeau said.

Investigators are using the Pawlet Volunteer Fire House as a base camp for the investigation due to its proximity to the crime scene.

“We have a search warrant for the house. The bodies that will be removed tonight and will be brought to the office of the chief medical examiner for autopsy,” said Trudeau.

The deceased have not been identified at this time.

Police also said that they believe this was an isolated event with no identified threat to the community.
