Obituary: Laura Merit, 1926-2023
Our beloved mom, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and fantastic pal, Laura Advantage, handed away on January 15, 2023, on the McClure Miller Respite home on the age of 96, along with her household at her aspect.
Laura lived an exceptionally full life along with her household and mates. She was a lady of extraordinary vitality and magnificence. She had a eager sense of social justice and was devoted to social causes all of her grownup life.
Laura was born and raised in New York Metropolis. She and her late husband, Don Advantage, raised their three daughters within the Bronx and Manhattan. She labored as an administrator at Walden College and as a hospital administrator at Bellevue Hospital in New York Metropolis.
Laura and Don moved to Vermont in 1996 to be nearer to household. They created an lively and engaged life in Vermont. In Vermont, she discovered a group of like-minded mates who supplied her with pleasure and assist till the day she died. All the time engaged in social causes, Laura was a longtime volunteer employee at Steps to Finish Home Violence.
She will likely be significantly missed.
Her spirit and vitality to make the world a greater place continues along with her household. She is survived by household on two continents. Right here in Vermont, she is survived by her daughter Roberta Soll and son-in-law Roger Soll; grandsons Gregory and Ben; daughter-in-law, Tara Bubriski; and great-granddaughter, Ramona. In Europe, she is survived by her daughter Beth Advantage; grandsons Matthew and Jason, of Denmark; and her son-in-law Look Hulshof Pol, of the Netherlands.
A memorial service will likely be deliberate for the summer time.
