Vernon, Killingly Residents Killed In Rhode Island Crash

FOSTER, RI — A Vernon woman and a Killingly man were both killed in a Christmas Eve head-on crash in Rhode Island, authorities said.

Police from Foster, RI, recently issued a report on the incident.

On Dec. 24 at 3:31 p.m., Police responded to a crash along the 200 block of Hartford Pike in Foster, roughly a half-mile from the state line at Killingly.

According to a crash report, police discovered two vehicles in the eastbound lane with heavy front-end damage with fire and EMS crews already at the scene. It was later determined that one vehicle was traveling westbound and crossed over into the eastbound lane in an attempt to pass several vehicles and struck another vehicle head-on, according to a crash report.

The driver and sole occupant of the passing vehicle was identified as Aaron McCrory, of Danielson. McCrory was transported from the scene to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, according to a crash report.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was transported to Rhode Island and was in stable condition, police said. A passenger of the eastbound vehicle was identified in a crash report as Sandi Brooks, of Vernon. She was also transported from the scene to Rhode Island Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries, according to a crash report.
