  • Actor Steve Schirripa, who played Bobby Baccalieri on “The Sopranos” has been posting on social media from Rhode Island this summer.
  • The actor recently bought a house in Westerly after posting about his love of Longo’s meatballs, as well as the Ocean State in general.

You might know him by his famous role as Bobby Baccalieri on “The Sopranos,” but actor Steve Schirripa is also a huge fan of Rhode Island.

That’s why he recently became a resident of Westerly, though he says he is still a New Yorker through-and-through.

Schirripa has been posting a lot of Rhode Island content to his social media, including a July 10 post from his Westerly home featuring his beloved dog, Willie Boy.

He’s also posted from other famous Westerly locales recently, including a meal at the Ocean House, also with Willie Boy, on June 10, saying the iconic restaurant was “one of the greatest places ever.”

(Rhode Island native Olivia Culpo agreed – she got married across the street at Watch Hill Chapel on June 29, 2024, and held the star-studded reception at the Ocean House.)

What did Schirripa say about Rhode Island in his Instagram video?

From his home in Westerly, Schirripa was showing off the dinner he prepared, with homemade shrimp, asparagus, sausage, turkey burgers and chickpea salad.

“It’s a beautiful night in Rhode Island and we are gonna eat good,” he said in the video, feeding his dog, Willie, as he filmed.

“Willie is enjoying his asparagus,” Schirripa quipped in the video, as his Dachshund munched down a spear of the vegetable.

Schirripa says Longo’s meatballs are ‘the best meatball I’ve ever had’

He’s also a huge fan of the meatballs at Longo Ristorante and Pizzeria, located on High Street. In a Facebook video he made in December 2024, Schirripa was filmed sitting at a table at the restaurant, eating a meatball.

“I’ve eaten a lot of meatballs in my day, my friend,” he said in the video. “And this is the best meatball I’ve ever had. I’m not just saying that. Trust me on this.”

Schirripa was recently at the Brockton Rox game

The actor also recently hosted a “Sopranos Night” at the Brockton Rox game on June 21.

As part of the event, Schirripa took part in a VIP meet-and-greet and Q&A with fans. Willie Boy, of course, was also there.

Besides ‘The Sopranos,’ what are Schirripa’s other acting credits?

Beyond “The Sopranos,” Schirripa is known for playing detective Anthony Abetemarco on the television series “Blue Bloods.” He’ll also be in on the new show “Dexter: Resurrection.”

Schirripa is also a producer and the host of two Investigation Discovery series: “Karma’s A B*tech!” and “Nothing Personal,” according to IMDb.
