TEAMSTERS WIN STRIKE AT RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN
Staff Safe First Contract, Finish Two Week Strike
PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 19, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Teamsters on the Rhode Island Faculty of Design (RISD) have secured their very first contract following a two week-long strike and 10 months of negotiations. Staff unanimously voted to ratify the contract.
The brand new six-year contract contains wage will increase averaging 33 %, with a 22 % improve to take impact July 2023, wage retroactivity to October 2022, robust advantages, longevity bonuses, and extra.

RISD Teamsters approved a one-day unfair labor observe (ULP) strike in late March after Native 251 filed ULP fees in opposition to RISD for failing to pay a normal wage improve and altering beginning charges for employees with out offering them with discover or a chance to cut price.
