An Uxbridge man was identified as a man who was found under a tree branch on a Rhode Island hiking trail and later died, WPRI reported.

The family of Edward Clish, 62, looked for him after he went hiking on Nipmuc Trail in Burrillville but did not come back home on March 7, the news station reported after it spoke with Burrillville Police Chief Col. Stephen Lynch.

He was found unconscious under a tree branch, the report said.

Burrillville police and the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s office are investigating what happened and determine the cause of death, WPRI wrote.
