PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management is reminding hunters to keep their hunting licenses and permits up to date.

They’re also reminding hunters that poaching will come with consequences.

After nearly a year of investigating, Rhode Island environmental police charged a suspect from Burrillville with poaching.

The resident had his hunting privileges revoked and was fined $1,000 for baiting deer, hunting without a tag and obstructing an officer.
