PROVIDENCE – Authorities arrested a Pawtucket, R.I., man after seizing several firearms and more than 200 grams each of fentanyl and cocaine from his home earlier this week, Rhode Island State Police said Friday.
Erick Santana, 38, of 54 Woodhaven Road, was charged after the State Police’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Administration carried out a search warrant at Santana’s residence on Wednesday, officials said.
Investigators uncovered “considerable amounts of illegal firearms and equipment utilized to process and manufacture illegal narcotics” during the search, according to a statement from State Police.
“Specifically, an Omni .556 caliber semi-automatic assault rifle, a Ruger 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a Smith and Wesson .357 revolver, and an extended magazine were seized,” police said. “Approximately 266 grams of fentanyl, 221 grams of cocaine, a money counter, kilogram press, and equipment utilized to further process, repackage, and distribute illegal narcotics were also seized.”
Santana faces three charges of possession with intent to distribute a drug as well as three weapons-related charges, according to police.
Court records show Santana was arraigned on Thursday in Sixth Division District Court in Providence. No plea was entered and Santana was held without bail.
A bail hearing is scheduled for Monday.
