WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — Rhode Island State Police announced it is receiving a new $41.3 million public safety facility for southern Rhode Island.

The new Southern Public Safety Complex is set to replace Wickford and Hope Valley Barracks, and will be located in West Greenwich.

About 80 troopers will be housed in the 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility.

State police say the foundation of the building is expected to be poured in late November or early December of this year, and is scheduled to be completed in June 2026.
