DAYTON, OHIO (WKEF/WRGT) – Dayton men’s basketball enters a new week on a 12-game win streak following Saturday’s 96-62 win over Rhode Island.

The Flyers started the game with the momentum and carried throughout the afternoon, with DaRon Holmes II and Javon Bennett each topping 20 points. Having entered the top 25 of both major polls last Monday, the Flyers stand in position to move up in the rankings. However, when asked about if the Flyers feel they deserve more national attention, the two say they’re focused on winning their upcoming games, and everything else will fall into place.

Saturday was always going to be a unique atmosphere with the return of Archie Miller to UD Arena. He was Dayton’s head coach from 2011-17 before going to Indiana, and is now in his second season at Rhode Island. Miller spoke positively about his time with the Flyers, while Anthony Grant says as both an alum and the current UD head coach, he respects what Miller accomplished while in Montgomery County.

Dayton has a pair of road games this upcoming week, at La Salle on Tuesday before visiting Richmond on Saturday.
