De la Cruz drops out of Rhode Island congressional race
BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (AP) — Republican state Sen. Jessica de la Cruz has ended her bid for Congress nearly a month after formally launching her marketing campaign.
“Whereas I used to be inspired by the robust grassroots assist my marketing campaign obtained, proper now, the perfect place for me to combat for Rhode Islanders is within the state Senate,” she stated in an announcement late Thursday.
She stated a lot of her supporters had requested her to remain within the state legislature and proceed preventing for such causes as “suspending the fuel tax, parental rights in training, and our constitutional freedoms.”

The Democrats who stay within the race embody state Treasurer Seth Magaziner; Pleasure Fox, a former prime aide to Langevin; Biden administration official Sarah Morgenthau; Omar Bah, government director of The Refugee Dream Middle in Windfall; and former political strategist Michael Neary.
