Another RI Town Courting Costco After Store Withdraws Cranston Plans: Report

CRANSTON, RI — Another Rhode Island town is trying to convince Costco to open there after the wholesale chain withdrew its application to build a store in Cranston.

The first Costco Wholesale in the state was expected to open in Cranston at the site of the former state correctional institution’s building on Goddard Road. But Costco withdrew its zoning and permit applications.
