Star running back signs Pittsburgh Steelers’ contract offer
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has signed the team’s one-year restricted free-agent tender.
As of Monday, Warren and Atlanta Falcons center Ryan Neuzil are were the only two players who have yet to sign their tenders. But now Warren has signed it and inked himself on board for the 2025 season with the Steelers.
Warren’s tender will be on a one-year deal, and would be scheduled for unrestricted free agency in 2026. With the second-round tender, the Steelers ultimately offered him a one-year contract worth $5.346 million.
Despite an injury-filled 2024 season, Warren became the team’s lead back down the stretch. He finished with over 800 combined yards despite the hamstring and knee injuries he battled throughout the season.
With running back Najee Harris gone, this is Warren’s chance to take a lead role in the backfield. Even with the impending draft pick of a rookie, Warren has the experience and talent to take on a more substantial workload than he has in his previous three seasons of the NFL.
Along with Kenneth Gainwell, Warren and the rookie should create the three players the Steelers have in the backfield on the roster.
