Robert Plant, Allison Krauss bringing Can't Let Go tour to Pittsburgh

It’s been a long time since Robert Plant rock and rolled in Pittsburgh, but fans won’t have to wait “Evermore” — just until June.

Plant, the former lead singer of Led Zeppelin, will reunite with Allison Krauss for the Can’t Let Go tour, with a stop June 15 at the Pavilion at Star Lake. JD McPherson, who also plays lead guitar for Plant and Krauss, will open the show.

With two albums together — 2007’s “Raising Sand” and 2021’s “Raise the Roof” — Plant and Krauss combine for a concert melding blues, country, soul and folk rock, plus some Led Zeppelin songs.

“Doing gigs is doing gigs, but actually making magic in the room is the only way you get to a gig,” Plant told Rolling Stone. “Once you’ve got it, you can’t really blow it out of the water unless you have a real difference in personality. We don’t have that because we laugh at each other, but underneath it all there’s a lot of love and a strong affinity. It’s good. It’s really good.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at livenation.com, with several presales kicking off at 10 a.m. Wednesday. In order to put more tickets in the hands of fans, the tickets will be mobile only and restricted from transfer, except on Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange.

Plant’s last show in Pittsburgh came on Jan. 19, 2011, at the Petersen Events Center, while Krauss most recently played here on the 2019 Outlaw Music Festival at Star Lake.
