Police investigate fatal officer-involved shooting on South Side Slopes

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Allegheny County Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Pittsburgh’s South Side Slopes neighborhood that left a man dead.

Police were called to the 1900 block of Huron Street just before 2 a.m. Wednesday after Shot Spotter indicated several shots had been fired in the area. A resident also called 911 to report shots fired.

According to a news release, when officers arrived at the scene, they found a man outside a home. About 10 minutes later, the officers reported shots fired.

An adult man was shot. Officers performed CPR and first aid. The man was taken to the hospital where he died. No information on his identity has been released.
