The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Ohio State linebacker Craig Young to the practice squad. Young spent three seasons with the Buckeyes from 2019 to 2021 before transferring to Kansas to finish his career.

Along with signing Young, the team brought back Ade Ogundeji after cutting him from the active roster on Monday. Young was brought in after Jacoby Windmon, an inside linebacker who can also play outside linebacker, was poached from their practice squad by the Carolina Panthers. He must spend the next three weeks of the season on the Panthers’ active roster.

Young signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent out of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, Young was cut on August 27 during cutdown day and now will get his second NFL chance with the Steelers.

The 6-foot, 226-pound linebacker ran a 4.57 40-yard dash at the Big 12 Combine in Frisco, Texas. He has not yet played in an NFL game, but he will look to get that opportunity with the Steelers as he works his way up the depth chart. The Steelers have another inside linebacker on the practice squad, Devin Harper.
